I didn't receive the 'Mysterious Egg' from MR. POKEMON

Went up to MR. POKEMON's house, got the PokeDex, got the mysterious egg, got the call, went back to his lab after beating the Red Haired Trainer and couldn't give Prof. Elm the egg? And I read that his aide is meant to give you some Pokeballs which I never received from the aide. I checked the PokeCentre and the aide wasn't there either. Should I reset my game?

Something along the lines of: “This is terrible! Oh, what was the discovery MR. POKEMON made?”

At the very least, this is the beginning of the game, perhaps you should restart.

If it doesn't work after a restart, file corruption could be the cause - in that case you'd want to delete everything and redownload the game.
