Solved Trouble with performance

What I expected to happen:
The game working normally,
as it did just a few days ago.

What actually happened:
Everything in the game,
even small movements of
the characters, takes forever to load,
same with enviroments
and the game starting altogether.

Steps to reproduce:
I... honestly don't know.

You probably need to reduce your performance settings. Try the following:

  • Have as few other programs open as possible.

  • Playing in the default windowed size tends to produce the best result.

  • Playing Locally, as opposed to on a server.

  • Ensure the debug information is off (F3).

  • Ensure the lighting engine is off (F4).

  • First person mode tends to be a bit faster (F5).

  • Ensure the hud is off (this will disable the crosshair and chat) (F1).

  • View Bobbing: Off.

  • Field of View: 45.

  • Render Distance: Tiny.

  • Offset Map Quality: Off

  • Graphics: Fast

  • Multi Sampling: Off

  • 3D Models: Off

The thing is, it worked fine just a few days ago,
now it's so slow that I can hardly even get to the options.

UPDATE: I tried out all of these things,
but it has little to no effect.

What changed between a few days ago and today?

That's the thing, nothing.

Hm... let me give you 2 theories...

I tried to mess around with the
data of the game to get Pokémon
that weren't usually obtainable,
I didn't check before, but afterwards,
the game began to behave like this.
However, after seeing this,
I re-downloaded the game,
which sadly made no difference.

This leads me to my second theory,
my connection is very slow at the moment.
Maybe while downloading, it made some kind of... mistake?

Not all files are overwritten if you just redownload the game. For a complete blank slate you'll need to remove all of your P3D files before downloading again.

Additionally, the save itself might be a problem (assuming you're messing with an offline save). If you do the steps above and still experience issues, then you probably messed something up with your save; try a different save and see if the same performance problems exist.

How can I remove them all?
