Test and the few trees that dot it, taken during Indev 0.47.2.

Not to be confused with TestLevel, a similarly named location.

Test (or known in-game as Places_Testworld) is an unknown location within Pokémon 3D that is only accessible by editing the player.dat document in the Pokémon 3D file. This can be accomplished by editing their current location to be "test.dat". Its purpose was originally to be testing communication with other NPCs, ceilings, lighting, and the underwater effect. After the map wipe, little of the location remains. It has the same background music as Route 29. The player will constantly emit bubbles when they're in this area. The area is connected to TestLevel through a trans-dimentional door.

Geography

Test is a completely submerged void consisting of two Kantonian trees. The player is completely immobile while in Test, though getting around this with Sandbox Mode or Debugging Tools will not yield anymore geographical content.

Map Wipe

Nilllzz needed to test an aspect of the game that required an empty map. Because TestLevel had more content, Test was ultimately chosen as the map to be wiped. Because of this, nearly all of Test has been eradicated from the game's code; very few objects remain.

Places of Interest

NPCs

There were once three NPCs in Test, one appears to be Red's sprite, except orange. Another NPC appears to be the same thing, except blue. The last sprite is that of your in-game rival. The game crashes if you attempt to speak to the orange NPC, and the blue one simply has no dialogue. The rival NPC gives you a couple of options, but at the end, he'll always say "Log Out". These NPCs were removed when Test was wiped.

Door

There was a door not too far away from the cobble wall, upon entering it, the player will warp to TestLevel, retaining the underwater effect. Upon returning to Test, an interface with Kurt will come up. Although the Player can still access Test from TestLevel, the Player can no longer go back because of the map wipe.

Items

There are no items in this area.

Pokémon

There are no Pokémon in this area.
