    I also suggest that you imrove the quality of pokemon animations so they look uh like this :

    We used that kinda sprites, even had feature where Pokemon size depended IVs of these sprites, until 0.36. At 0.36 started used models, but a lot people didn't liked models and some versions later we started use follow sprites, because it has 4 sides.

    Overworld sprites are reused for the battle system to make use of the new battle system, and to save on resources.
