  2. We, the pokemon3d.net staff, has from now (2016-09-02) discontinued work on this project and handed it over to a group of volunteers on Github. The project will be open source, and you can help develop it from now on. Check out the repo here.

"Why?" you might ask. We have unfortunatly lost interest in continuing development on Pokémon 3D. Also Nintento of America Inc. sent a DMCA takedown notice to Gamejolt (where this game was hosted) and asked them to remove all games related to Nintendo's work. Read the full DMCA here.

But you can still download the latest version of the game here!

The way the game is currently built would make free movement virtually impossible.
However, the game is still in Indev, a state before Beta and Alpha. Perhaps it will one day happen, but not anytime soon.

In the games which Pokémon3D is mostly based on, the movement was only allowed in four directions, so following this line, we will keep this in this and close future versions. You might want to try third person mode (by pressing F5) if you find the camera too annoying.

the feeling of free movement is nice tbh, but that would break most, or even all, scripts thats within the game. back then we had 8 Directional movement, that proved to be broken. so going for a 4 Directional movement is great for the game's development, and stay truthful in the game's world and keep the original's style.
